(Continued from the main Credit Card Addiction Stories page) "It was so easy to spend more than I would have if I had paid with cash
or a check. I thought we'd have a small wedding at first, but as
I began booking things, I realized I wanted another big wedding.
I rented a larger, more expensive hall for the reception. I bought
a $1200 dress instead of a $400 one like I had budgeted for. I even
decided to hire a catering service instead of letting my cousin and her
husband do it like I first wanted. By the time our wedding rolled
around, I had maxed out his credit card and two of my own. We both
work, so I figured we'd be able to pay it off pretty fast, but then I got
pregnant on our honeymoon, and we needed to buy a crib and clothes and
toys and the list hasn't ended yet. We opened more cards to pay for
more expenses. That was seven years ago and we still have a sizable
debt.
