Jessica...
(Continued from the main Credit
Card Addiction Stories page)
"We were used to a certain lifestyle, buying what we wanted, eating
out when we wanted."
Jessica and her husband, like others, used their credit
cards to make up for the change in income. They used their card
to pay bills and to eat out, some months
charging as much as $900 on food alone. To make matters worse they
had a 23% interest rate. The debt racked up. "We were unable
to give up the lifestyle we
were used to and we are paying of it now. My husband and I both
had to get weekend and evening jobs to try to pay down our debt because
we couldn't afford to pay more than the minimum payment. We are slowing
getting back on track, but it's been five years and we still have quite
a way to go."
