that he and his friends drink a lot .  The first credit card statement was unbelievable to Fred, but he decided to just make the minimum monthly payment and go about his business.  Thinking that he would not go out and party as much, he wasn't worried about the credit card balance until the second statement came in and he was over his limit!  After looking at the statement and the list of charges he had made, he discovered that his ability to manage his money was somewhat hindered by the amount of alcohol he would consume in an evening.  Fred decided to leave the card at his apartment from then on when he went out partying.  He took out a payday loan to pay off the balance, and then cut up the card.
